Richard is my wife's cousin. She and her sister, Sandra Huxhold grew up with him. He was a theology professor and bible scholar. He loved the Lord and now lives in heaven. He will be dearly missed.

I met Dick way back when we were in 6th grade and I moved from Zion, Il to 93rd Str just off 39th Ave in Kenosha.  We attended a small country school I believe was called Highland.  He and his step-sister Bonnie Ricker lived across the street from me.  Bonnie and I became good friends and Dick was my first crush!  We went to square dance lessons in town at the PYC on 52nd Str (don't laugh - we were from the country after all) and to the Dutch Maid for sundaes afterwards.  Dick and Bonnie had horses and we rode up and down 93rd Str and back into the fields.  Good memories.  Dick was always God loving and God fearing.  I moved into town and went to Lincoln and I believe somehow they ended up in Salem.  But I remember he married Roanne and studied Religion.  Seemed to have enjoyed his life and family.  Rest in Peace Richard.

I am so very sorry to learn of the passing of Richard.  My sympathy to his wife, our classmate, Roanne.   I enjoyed reading Cherie's note regarding her memories of Richard and his sister. Actually I attended Highland Grade School  for 1 day in the fourth grade. Apparently I was at the wrong school and had to go to Whittier.  It would have been fun to get to know the class at Highland. Condolynces to Ken and Joan Unwin and all Richards family and loved ones.  Losing our classmates is just hard but Richard lived such a good life and he will be rewarded.
