Bonnie was a close friend of mine when we were in early elementary school at Durkee. I remember her as very sweet and a lot of fun. We found others friends and drifted away from our close relationship as children, but I have always thought of her with gladness that I knew her, and I've wondered how her life had progressed and transformed. I'd love to hear recent and more personal information about her if there are present family or friends who'd like to share it. I'm living in California where I've been since the early 1970's and I won't be at the funeral/memorial for Bonnie. But I'm glad I heard of her passing on our class website. I send blessings and light to her and to her loved ones.

I have fond memories of Bonnie and Jackie Sturm as lab partners across from me in chem lab. Somehow they always seemed to avoid impending disaster. She also looked after me at the 30th reunion, when the heat was about to do me in. Always thought of her with a smile, they didn't come any nicer than Bonnie.

I met Bonnie at the begining of our Junior year and we dated for a good portion of that year.  We went to Sub Deb and the Prom.  Bonnie was always postive and sweet and she really enjoyed signing in the choir.  When I went to meet her parents, she told me before hand that her father had a large collection of Playboy magazines and if I saw one, not to be surprised.  I wasn't.  I believe her mother, who was positive like Bonnie, was diagnosed with cancer during our Senior year and died shortlly thereafter.  I believe the suddeness of her mother's death was a difficlut challenge for Bonnie.

Bonnie and Jackie Sturm were buddies and both wanted to become nurses.  Which it seems that they did.  40 years at Kenosha Hosptial is quite the accomplishment.

We parted ways at the end of our Junior year and I had little or no contact wtih her since high school.  Was surprised to see that she married in the fall lof 1961, right after high school.

It's hard to say goodbye to Bonnie.  She first lived behind my Grandma when we were 4 or 5.  Later she lived across from my home on 58th St and went to Durkee School.  She was one of the few singers in A Capella choir who had a true vibrato. She was sweet to all. My condolences to all her friends and family.

There are some people whose face comes to mind the instant you hear their name ; Bonnie Kley, for me, was one of those people. She was bright and beautiful, thoughtful and helpful, a class act and a whole bunch of many other positive adjectives. Mostly I remember Bonnie from the Acappella Choir. It's the only class we had in common; her future interests were much loftier than mine and her success later on in life proved they hinted as to what was in store for her. It's always a shock to see another well known and well liked classmate in the Memorial section and seeing Bonnie's name was no exception.
Her life seemed blessed , a long, happy marriage and many adventures along with a fulfilling career as a nurse. Bonnie, youre at Home now. Some day we'll all catch up with you but until then, rest in blessed peace :- ) !

One memory I have of Bonnie came the first week of school in our senior year. As soon as the school started it got really hot. Bonnie lived near Eichelman Park and a group of us brought our swimsuits to school. At lunch time we went to Bonnie's  house, changed into our suits and went for quick swim.

Bonnie lived on 29th Ave when I did and we had many fun days growing up there.  She was my first husband's nurse when he had thyroid surgery and was the best.  I am so sad to hear of her passing.  I will treasure the fond memories have of her.  Rest in peace Bonnie.

I enjoyed reading all the comments about Bonnie.  She really was such a nice person, really so very lovely.  I worked at Kenosha Hospital with Bonnie for some years. She was in a department right next to the one I was working on, so I often saw her coming and going to and from work and at meals etc.   She really seemed to love nursing and was very professional in every way.  She was kind and patients and staff alike appreciated her.  I hope she was happy in her life as I know she helped so many others in theirs.
