 Joseph E. Rimkus Sr.

1943 - 2016

Joseph E. Rimkus, Sr., 73, of Kenosha, passed away on Monday, Aug. 29, 2016, at Grande Prairie Health and Rehabilitation Center in Pleasant Prairie.

Born on Feb. 20, 1943, in Waukegan, Ill., he was the son of the late Joseph V. and Valeria (Pipcious) Rimkus. Coming to Kenosha at the age of 6, he attended local schools and was a graduate of Mary D. Bradford High School. He later graduated from Molers Barber College in Chicago.

On May 2, 1964, Joseph was united in marriage to Rita Sessa at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. 

For 34 years, he was employed with Outboard Marine Corporation and served many years on the Johnson Motors Activity Club. Joseph also owned and operated Lakeside Barber Shop for 10 years.

Joseph was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. His hobbies included hunting, fishing and raising rabbits. His favorite pastime was attending his grandchildren's many extracurricular activities and spending time with his family.

He will be deeply missed by his son, Joseph E. (Mary C.) Rimkus Jr.; three sisters, Mary (Bill) Label, Ann Rimkus and Patricia (Chuck) Vena; and his two precious grandchildren, Megan and Jonathan Rimkus.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rita and their daughter, Julia Rimkus in infancy.
