Donald J. Shidagis

1943 - 2012

Donald J. Shidagis, 69, of Kenosha, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012, at his home surrounded by his family.

Born in Kenosha on March 11, 1943, he was the son of the late Joseph C. and Virginia S. (Schilling) Shidagis.

On Aug. 26, 1967, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, he was united in marriage to Diana Kufahl. They were blessed with a wonderful daughter and enjoyed 45 years of marriage.

Don proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam conflict. For 33 years he was employed as a machinist with Johnson Outboard Marine Company, retiring in 2006.

Don attended Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church. He was a member of the Corvette Club and the Johnson Outboard Retirees Group. He enjoyed golf, was an avid football fan and collected memorabilia of the Green Bay Packers, coins and miniature Corvettes. He loved to enter contests and was thrilled to actually win a trip to Vegas! Most of all, Don cherished his family.

He is survived by his wife, Diana; his daughter, Dionne (Lee) Kujawa of Milwaukee; a brother, James Shidagis of Kenosha and his canine companions, Murphy and Bailey.

Don was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Ronald and Gerald.
