Timothy (Tim) D. Hillary of Wisconsin/Indiana passed away Saturday, March 25, 2023.
Tim was born January 8, 1944, in Kenosha, WI to Guy D. and Mildred C. Hillary.
After high school, Tim served in the Air Force and explored the world, particularly taking time to explore and study classical karate. He returned from service and was the first in his family to attend college. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in 1973. Tim was proud of his work as a Federal Investigator for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Upon his retirement, he opened his own business, StarFire Strategies, and did consulting work which allowed him to travel around the world.
Outside of work he was an avid outdoorsman, happy to be fishing or photographing all the world had to offer. Additionally, he took every opportunity he could to support his daughters, be that as a band camp chaperone or providing the loudest support from the stands at cheer competitions. His life truly became complete with the addition of his two granddaughters whom he taught to fish and shared many special memories.
He is preceded in death by his parents Guy and Mildred Hillary, his brother, Douglas Hillary, and his son, Kevin.
He is survived by his loyal wife of 49 years, Carol, his daughters Amber (Jim) Nelson and Kimberly (Dave)
Hillary Kunkle, and his beloved granddaughters, Ashlynn Nelson and Reilly Kunkle.
No local service is planned. There will be a private family celebration at Camp Butler, Springfield, Illinois. In lieu of flowers or donations, please honor Tim’s request to spend time together with family/friends, watch the stars, feel the wind, and make a memory.

Tim and I spent countless nights in a tent in preperation of our next days fishing trip. As usual, first one up wakes the other. We rode our bikes countless miles to various ponds in the area. We would eat lunch with the fish we caught. Several times we didn't catch anything so we settled for fresh frog legs. Fond childhood memories. Sympathys to his wife Carol and the rest of his family. R.I.P. Tim
