1961-67 in and out of college, worked construction, and was abruptly drafted into the Army. Spent two years defending the borders of Germany and returned in 1969. Finished college (GI Bill) in 1972. Met Marleen Andreucci in 1973 and got married in 1974. In the construction business from 1974-1980. Went to work for the U.S. Navy at Great Lakes from 1980-1998. Left to work for a general contractor and retired from construction in 2006. Taught construction courses at the College of Lake County in 2007, sold the house, and moved to North Carolina. Most of the kids had moved, got married, had kids and lived in North Carolina and Florida, so why did I want to stay and shovel snow? Did'nt. Anyway, have been retired in NC since summer 2007. After Buzz sold my house, we were on the road to NC within the hour. Lived in Wilmington, NC for a year then moved to a condo in Shallotte, NC. for the next 14 years. Shallotte is midway between Myrtle Beach, SC and Wilmington, NC, which is like the golf capital of America. In March 2023, moved to an apartment in Cary, NC, as the landlord sold the condo. Just returned from the 80th birthday bash of the 61 class and it was fabulous.

Happy Birthday, William. i hope you have a grand, celebratory day. It is a chilly, damp evening here in rural France. I just built a fire in the fireplace. I am going to mix myself a martini and sit in front of the fire with a good book. Rebecca is in Louisville. Her mother died Tuesday evening at 101 years old. Becky was able to be with her for the last week of her life. Come on over. I'll make you a martini as well and we can sit in front of the fire and toast your 81st.

Thanks for hauling my fanny around on the 80th birthday celebration, it was great. Also, you should join in on the zoom meeting on the 21st of each month, I checked it out and it's great.
