Sadened by the news, Jerry was a good friend and an all around nice guy. Great sense of humor. Last saw Gerry at one of the reunions-he looked the same as always.

What a friend. We played together before we went to kindegarten and stayed friends all the way through high school. Lots of laughs and some crazy times especially during our senior year when we lived on the same street in Beverly Woods.
Heavy.

While attending Columbus school Gerry and I and Kaarin Van Dahlwyk often walked to school together, occasionally attended by a few others, Kent Muller, who lived two doors west of Gerry, one or two of the Veale kids, or Kaaren's sister GiGi. After high school Kaaren and Gerry married and had a daughter who was eventually raised in the same city where i resided in S California. When it rained or was particularly inclement Gerry and Kaaren and I bummed a ride with Gerry's next door neighbor, Oscar Mayer. At that time we thought that he was actually Oscar Mayer as he gave us a ride to school in his Weiner Mobile. When we piled out of the Mobile at Columbus it was like we were celebrities and all the kids gathered around to get a glimpse of Oscar. Joe (Oscar) and his wife Dorothy were little people, i imagine 4' foot three or so. If you don't recall the Mobile it was a 20' long hot dog which they managed to fit a car underneath; it was a dramtic and eye catching sight. Gerry at that time always seemed to be laughing about something, there seemed to be mischief in his eyes at all times. I saw little of him after high school but at reunions he still had that mischief thing going, always smiling and never negative about anything or anyone. It seems that if you knew Gerry you liked him, such was his charm.

So sorry to hear about Gerry's passing. We were good friends in high school, often going to Franks Dinner for lunch. Brings back memories of Friday nights scooping the loop and some good times at their boat house.
May you rest in peace Gerry, my concolences to his family!
